FASTPET is a special masterbatch formulated and patented by GS4PLASTIC, which manages to increase the crystallinity of PET without compromising its processability and leading to a considerable increase in thermal, mechanical and oxygen barrier properties. The bottles made with FASTPET are 100% recyclable in the existing PET supply chain. Furthermore, FASTPET is also suitable for use with post-consumer rPET. It is possible to use FASTPET for the production of bottles only in single stage stretch blow molding (ISBM) for HOTFILL application without the need to use special hot mold technologies. The recommended dosage is between 0.2% and 0.5%.
Thanks to FASTPET it is possible to make the container resist up to 85°C, thus making it suitable for the HOTFILL process without the use of special PETs and expensive technologies. With FASTPET it is possible to increase the barrier properties, and consequently the shelf life of the products up to 12 months.

The innovative system of vacuum plasma technology allows the surface chemical modification of polymer powders of PE or other materials, and it simplifies and ensures better performance, without degrading the polymer and changing the following key characteristics :

• The melting temperature

The plasma process changes the polarity and interfacial tension of the polymer, that facilitates many processes of mixing, adhesion, welding and painting between polymers and pigments, between plastics and metals, and/or between polymers of different chemical nature.
